Each year we gather to honor and remember Mr. Bill Ruth. Bill will be remembered as a life-long Adult educator and advocate for adult education in Ohio.
Bill began his career in education and taught veterans returning from WWII under the G.I. and also taught marketing and sales at White Hall High School near Columbus where he brought numerous DECA teams to state and national competition. Bill's career concluded with his time serving as State Supervisor for Adult Education with the Ohio Department of Education.
He made extraordinary strides for adult education in Ohio by establishing programs statewide and recruiting a strong team of adult educators to lead these programs. His leadership legacy lives on through the Bill Ruth Award, named in his honor, which has been distributed for the last 31 years to many of the top "Dragon Slayers" in Adult Workforce Development.
