Why We do What We do

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Instructors and staff:  Why do we have to collect so much information on our students?  Why do we have to follow up on students who dropped out?  Why is my financial aid coordinator always asking me about my students’ attendance and grades?  Why do we need to know if our students went to college somewhere else before they enrolled in our programs?  Why can’t we enroll students without a high school diploma or GED in some of our programs?  Why do we have to have some much documentation for our Program Advisory Committees?  Why can’t we just change our program hours or longer if we need to?

This session is intended for new and part-time instructors and staff who may be feeling overwhelmed by all of the rules and procedures in Adult Workforce Education. We’ll explore WHY we have to do the things we do, and provide some templates and timelines that instructors can use to make all of our rules a bit easier to understand.
